€800,000 target reached in a week – VALOREM’s crowdfunding again a major success in Finland
VALOREM Group, a developer, builder, and owner of renewable energy, has fully reached the €800,000 target of its second crowdfunding campaign launched in Finland in under a week. The funds will be directed to the projects development of Finnish renewable energy battery storage (BESS).
The exceptionally rapid completion of the funding round reflects the strong willingness of both Finnish and international investors to take part in the energy transition and support concrete projects that strengthen Finland’s energy balance, security of supply, and energy self-sufficiency. This is already VALOREM’s second successful crowdfunding round in Finland. Investors will receive a nominal interest rate of eight percent on their investment, paid semi-annually.
VALOREM has been a pioneer in citizen-based financing in the renewable energy sector in France. Finland’s first-ever wind project crowdfunding, launched for the Lapinsalo project in Kiuruvesi, previously raised €250,000, with a significant share contributed by local residents.
The funds raised will be directed to BESS projects, which play a critical role in improving the flexibility of the electricity grid and integrating renewable energy. Battery storage is a key part of the energy transition: it stores inexpensive electricity during periods of low grid load and releases it during peak demand. BESS units also provide essential balancing services, enabling higher shares of renewable energy without compromising grid stability. In Finland, increasing storage capacity has become a national priority to secure the operational reliability of the electricity grid.
VALOREM is an experienced battery storage operator in Europe, with 16 MW of capacity already in operation and hundreds of megawatts under development.
