VALOREM Group launches its first crowdlending campaign in Finland on the platform Invesdor

For the first time, the renewable energy company VALOREM Group is bringing crowdlending to Finland and to the municipality of its project, giving local residents the opportunity to lend to a wind power initiative. The goal is to engage people from Kiuruvesi and nearby areas in the early phases of the project and offer them a meaningful way to participate.

The crowdlending campaign is linked to the Lapinsalo wind power project in Kiuruvesi. The funds raised will be used to carry out wind measurements – a crucial step for accurately estimating energy production. The actual construction of the wind farm will be financed separately.

Crowdlending in renewable energy is entirely new in Finland. We hope local people will get involved in their region’s project, benefit modestly financially, and contribute to the green transition. In France, we’ve run over 130 crowdlending campaigns, raising more than €65 million.
Minna Jukola Country Manager of VALOREM Energies Finland

The campaign will be rolled out in three phases: first to residents of Kiuruvesi and surrounding municipalities, then to the whole of Finland, and finally across Europe if the target is not reached earlier.

Loans start from €250 and can be made via Europe’s leading crowdlending platform Invesdor, beginning 12 May. Each loan has a term of three years, with a fixed 10% annual return, paid semi-annually*. The loan is secured by the financially strong parent company of VALOREM Energies Finland, VALOREM S.A.S. of France.

VALOREM and Invesdor representatives will be present in Kiuruvesi on 12–13 May at Hotel Peltohovi. The first day will feature a general information session, and the second will focus on hands-on guidance for those interested in lending.

It’s a privilege to be part of a pioneering project. I look forward to engaging with local residents and discussing the crowdlending opportunity. Monday is for general info, Tuesday is for one-on-one guidance.
Jere Kujanpää Project Manager of the Lapinsalo project
Kiuruvesi, the Lapinsalo project, and our collaboration with VALOREM offer a great starting point for our work in renewable energy in Finland. We’ve run similar campaigns in the Netherlands and other countries with great success.

From Kiuruvesi’s perspective, the project brings long-term benefits beyond participation in crowdlending. The wind farm will operate for an estimated 35 years, generating tens of millions of euros in property tax revenue. Roads built for the wind farm will be maintained year-round, benefiting hunters and landowners alike. Overall, this is a multi-hundred-million-euro investment into Finland.

The Lapinsalo wind farm will include up to 44 turbines, each with a nominal capacity of around 8 MW. The expected production would meet the annual electricity needs of around 190,000 Finnish households (based on 5,000 kWh per year).
