VALOREM HAS EXCEEDED 50,000 HOURS OF SOCIAL CLAUSES AT ITS RENEWABLE ENERGY SITES

Since 2016, the VALOREM Group, an independent operator with over 30 years’ commitment to an inclusive energy transition, has been incorporating social inclusion clauses into the construction and operation phases of its wind and solar farms. In 2026, the Group reached a symbolic milestone: over 50,000 hours dedicated to helping people who are distant from the labour market.

The VALOREM Group, a pioneer in social inclusion clauses within the renewable energy sector

In 2016, under the leadership of Jean-Yves GRANDIDIER, founding chairman of the VALOREM Group, an initial partnership agreement was signed with the Gironde Department and the A.DE.L.E. Association in Bègles to enable people who were distant from the labour market to join the Group’s construction sites in the Médoc region of Gironde.
At the time, this initiative to establish a voluntary scheme of integration clauses was a first in France for a company in the renewable energy sector. It reflects a firm conviction: the energy transition must also be social and regional.
Since then, in partnership with local facilitators (from the Alliance Villes-Emploi network) in each region, between 7% and 10% of the working hours on our projects have been reserved for people facing barriers to employment: long-term jobseekers, young people under 26, recipients of the Revenu de Solidarité Active and other basic social benefits, and people recognised as disabled workers.

The symbolic 50,000-hour mark has been surpassed

Ten years on, the VALOREM Group has surpassed the milestone of 50,000 hours of social integration schemes carried out at its wind farms. In total, 358 people have benefited from these schemes, enabling them to acquire practical skills, consolidate their career paths and, for some, discover a vocation in professions linked to the energy transition.

These hours correspond to roles that are fully integrated into project activities. During the construction phase, those on work integration schemes are involved in site security, the installation and cabling of the electrical network, the assembly of structures, the maintenance of site accommodation, and manual labour in public works.

Fabien (33), a former baker and pastry chef, has been working for over three months as a labourer on a solar farm site in Haute-Garonne, through two temporary integration placements with the companies Farjado and Electromontage, on behalf of ETTI ERGOS (Actual Group). “I’d had enough of fluorescent lights; I wanted to work outdoors: this is my first experience on a solar farm and I love the atmosphere on site and the team spirit – it makes me want to carry on!”

The initiative also continues during the operational phase: at several operational solar farms, inclusive organisations are being engaged to carry out maintenance of natural areas.

The inclusion clause, at the heart of the VALOREM mission

The Group’s social commitment is fully aligned with its corporate mission: to develop renewable energy projects that create sustainable value for local communities.
Since 2017, 32 sites have incorporated social inclusion clauses during their construction (23 solar farms and 9 wind farms). Even today, 13 of our sites currently in operation utilise inclusive structures.

Social clauses are an integral part of the VALOREM Group’s DNA, reflecting our commitment to local development. For us, this is a commitment that has always been meaningful, and is even more so today during this particularly unstable economic period.
