VALOREM’s first solar project in Aveyron: a project promoting local employment and integration

Independent operator VALOREM, a pioneer in renewable energy, is strengthening its regional presence by signing a partnership agreement with the Union Départementale des Structures d’Insertion par l’Activité Économique de l’Aveyron (UDSIAE 12). This collaboration aims to promote professional integration through green energy production projects in the Aveyron region.

An initiative that highlights the positive impact of the energy transition on local job creation.
Since 2017, VALOREM has been the first company in the renewable energy sector to apply employment integration clauses on its construction sites. This scheme offers people who are distant from the labour market the opportunity to reconnect with the world of work while contributing to local economic development.

In concrete terms, at least 7% of working hours are reserved for people in precarious employment situations: long-term job seekers, young people under the age of 26, recipients of minimum social benefits or people recognised as disabled workers. The company aims to increase this rate to 10% in the coming years.
Since this initiative was introduced at VALOREM, 180 people have been employed on 29 green energy production projects, representing more than 39,000 hours of work.
In Occitanie, this inclusive commitment has already enabled the recruitment of 51 people on integration programmes.

A concrete approach, applied to the La Couvertoirade solar park (12)

The agreement signed with UDSIAE 12 will apply throughout the construction of the La Couvertoirade photovoltaic park and even afterwards, particularly for landscape maintenance. The work, which began in September 2025, is being carried out by VALREA, the construction subsidiary of the VALOREM Group, which plans to hire four people on integration programmes for the Base Camp, Assembly and Electrical Networks lots, for a total of around 500 hours of work.
This is VALOREM’s first park in Aveyron, and it is also the first renewable energy production project to receive support from the Aveyron One-Stop Shop for Social Clauses. The project aims to pave the way for new collaborations in the department.

The future solar power plant in La Couvertoirade (12)

Identified by the municipality in 2017, the 6-hectare site, which had previously been unused, was chosen to host a photovoltaic park project. This initiative will breathe new life into a neglected motorway site, while producing clean, local energy. The park is scheduled to come into service in the summer of 2026. It will produce around 7 GWh of electricity per year, equivalent to nearly 20% of the electricity consumption of the Larzac et Vallées community of municipalities*.

The integration clauses are a pact that commits companies and the Department to offering a new dynamic to people who are distant from the job market. This first collaboration reflects our shared ambition to reconcile energy transition, employment and solidarity.
Denis NEGRE President of UDSIAE 12
We are convinced that the energy transition must be carried out for and with local populations. This scheme, which we have been implementing since 2017, has already been a great success in terms of integration and return to employment in other areas. We are therefore very confident about repeating the operation in Aveyron, on the La Couvertoirade wind farm construction site. Integration clauses are a natural part of the VALOREM group’s DNA, reflecting our commitment to local development. For us, this commitment is particularly meaningful in these economically unstable times.
