The Association of Rural Mayors of France (AMRF) and VALOREM are joining forces to accelerate the energy transition at the heart of local territories
Wednesday, 19 November 2025 – The Association of Rural Mayors of France (AMRF) and VALOREM have signed a partnership agreement to help rural municipalities stay better informed and equipped to address the challenges of the energy transition.
Beyond sharing knowledge on various technical and scientific topics, this partnership is designed to be operational: municipalities need concrete tools to move their local priorities forward.
Strengthening information to accelerate the transition
Rural municipalities are directly—and often the first—to be affected by the consequences of climate change. This is why, since 2023, the AMRF has been running a programme on the ecological transition (Le Grand Atelier des maires ruraux de France pour la transition écologique) to help mayors stay informed, build their expertise on scientific topics, and exchange and share their experiences.
This programme also brings together various experts on ecological issues and energy transition matters. VALOREM, a French and independent green energy operator, is very pleased to contribute to the Grand Atelier programme. For more than 30 years, VALOREM has been working with local territories to understand their needs and co-design meaningful renewable energy projects. Thanks to this partnership, AMRF members will have access to tools, documentation resources, and site visits
Local territories know their challenges and issues better than anyone. Very often, it is local initiatives that demonstrate that implementing the energy transition is possible, desired, and expected. This partnership reflects our commitment of more than 30 years to supporting territories in taking ownership of their green energy production in the face of climate change.
Rural territories are on the front line of the ecological transition and are ready to take ownership of the issue. It is essentially in these areas that renewable energies will need to be developed. Rural municipalities offer close proximity to citizens, which facilitates dialogue and cultural change. This is the conviction and commitment of our network, embodied by the unprecedented work of the Grand Atelier des maires ruraux for the ecological transition.
